JUNE!

we've been experiencing a warmer than normal june...or so the weatherman tells me. i'm finding that hard to believe after playing vball three times in the single digits. not to mention moving house in a monsoon (okay, that was technically may but still).

the move was completed a couple of weeks ago and the unpacking is ongoing. for those of you who are contemplating a move in the future i have a couple of lessons learned:
1. find your movers by word of mouth
2. avoid monsoons
3. if your movers tell you 'your stairs are really slowing us down is it okay if we just leave all your boxes at the bottom of the stairs covered by a tarp?' see number two and answer no
4. ask your movers how many moves they are expected to complete in one day. if the answer is >2 do not book them.
5. do not use toronto movers

the apartment is slowly taking shape. the major furniture is re-assembled and in functional places. we are in desperate need of book storage solutions and some room dividing devices. since we both came from smaller spaces we aren't quite sure what to do with all the extra room. pieces of furniture i used to feel were enormous have been dwarfed by the open concept and high ceiling. once things get sorted i'll have to post some photos.

tomorrow is my students' last day and i'm very much looking forward to my three day weekend. here's hoping for a couple more of those above average days.
