my day off

because i worked this weekend and my ci is away sick i took today off placement. i slept in and had a nice leisurely breakfast including a big cup of coffee. i think that might have been the mistake. i haven't drunk coffee in about 3 weeks and it hit me hard. i've got the shakes, i can't concentrate and i've turned into a complete spaz. today there has been freezing drizzle on and off all day. i decided to walk downtown, in boots (with a modest heel and complete absence of tread), so that i could go to the bank and go to work. after slip sliding my way to division, along brock, i switched to princess and things improved. i only nearly wiped out half a dozen times. this is the one day i was glad the cars all splashed slush all over the sidewalk because the residual salt helped with the ice a little. so i got to the bank alright, handed in my film for development, got across the street from work only to realize that for the second time THIS week (yes it is only wed.) i'd forgotten my keys...i am my own worst nightmare. so somewhat frustrated, i skidded my way back up the hill to A&P to buy a couple of groceries. i picked up a carton of blueberries, put them in my basket and started talking to a girl in the second year class when i heard a voice from behind me "uhh your blueberries are falling..." i turned around to see who was talking spraying blueberries all over the floor. the carton opened in my basket and all the little ones were falling through the slots...oh god. shortly thereafter i saw a employee heading to the produce section with a broom...oh the shame. then i got to the cash register, and dropped my airmiles card, after a pale smile i slip-slid my way all the way home. i want to do my laundry today but i fear that there will be a red sock in with my whites. i think i'll stay in for a while until the caffeine clears my system.
